About the Role As a Responsible Manager under Bitget's AFSL, you will be accountable for overseeing all spot trading operations (crypto-to-fiat and crypto-to-crypto), ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining the highest standards of client service and risk management.
Regulatory & Compliance Oversight Act as a nominated Responsible Manager under the AFSL, ensuring all spot trading activities comply with the Corporations Act 2001 and ASIC regulatory requirements Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes affecting digital asset spot trading and implement necessary operational adjustments Oversee compliance with AML/CTF obligations, including transaction monitoring and suspicious matter reporting to AUSTRAC Ensure proper client money segregation in accordance with s981A-981H of the Corporations Act Ensure appropriate client classification (retail vs wholesale) and maintain documentation supporting wholesale client certifications Support AFSL licence renewals, variations, and regulatory audits Operations & Trade Execution Supervise the execution of spot trades, ensuring best execution practices and immediate settlement Develop, implement, and maintain operational policies and procedures for spot trading activities Monitor spot market liquidity, pricing mechanisms, and counterparty risks Oversee the client onboarding process, including KYC/AML verification and suitability assessments Ensure accurate record-keeping and trade reporting in line with regulatory requirements Risk Management Identify, assess, and mitigate operational, market, and liquidity risks associated with spot trading Escalate material risk events and anomalies to the Compliance Officer and senior management Contribute to the development and testing of business continuity and disaster recovery plans People & Training Provide training and ongoing supervision to staff involved in spot trading operations Ensure representatives meet competency standards under RG 146 Foster a culture of compliance and ethical conduct across the team Stakeholder Management Liaise with external auditors, ASIC, and other regulatory bodies as required Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Compliance, Legal, Technology) to enhance operational efficiency Handle escalated client complaints and disputes professionally and in accordance with IDR procedures
Experience Significant experience in financial services, with substantial exposure to spot trading, crypto dealing, or digital asset operations Demonstrated experience serving retail clients (mandatory) Demonstrated experience operating within an AFSL-regulated environment or equivalent Proven track record in managing trading operations, compliance, and risk functions
& Competency RG 146 compliant (Tier 1) for relevant financial products, including digital/crypto assets Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Business, Law, or related field (highly desirable) Additional certifications in AML/CTF, compliance, or risk management (advantageous) Knowledge & Skills Strong understanding of the Corporations Act, ASIC Regulatory Guides (especially RG 104, RG 105, RG 166, RG 175), and AML/CTF Act Thorough understanding of retail client obligations and wholesale client certification requirements under the Corporations Act In-depth knowledge of cryptocurrency markets, blockchain technology, and digital asset custody Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving regulatory environment Other
Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident Satisfy ASIC's fit and proper person requirements (no disqualifying history) Willingness to undergo background checks (police, bankruptcy, ASIC banned register)
