Sr. Designer - Data Experimentation and AI

We are looking for a world-class Staff Product Designer to help shape the future of Kraken in the crypto space. This high-impact individual contributor role involves leading the design direction of complex, high-priority areas within our flagship Kraken app. The team moves fast, ships with purpose, and is deeply invested in quality, craft, and customer satisfaction. The opportunity involves setting and elevating the design vision across key product areas, leading the design of complex, ambiguous problem spaces into clear, elegant, and scalable user experiences. This role also entails raising the industry bar with visually rich, forward-thinking designs, shaping Kraken’s design system and visual language, and partnering with product, engineering, and leadership to influence product strategy and roadmap decisions. You will drive alignment across teams, mentor and support other designers, champion a high standard of craft and user experience, use customer insights, data, and experimentation to inform decisions, and lead design critiques to foster a strong culture of feedback and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience in product design, portfolio demonstrating exceptional craft and impact particularly in mobile app experiences, proven ability to lead design direction for large complex product areas and deliver high quality outcomes, strong UX and visual design skills, track record of solving ambiguous problems with clarity and elegance, advanced prototyping skills, ability to communicate complex interactions and ideas effectively, experience influencing product strategy and cross-functional decision-making at a team or organizational level, strong systems thinking, experience contributing to or evolving design systems at scale, ability to mentor and elevate other designers through feedback collaboration and example, data-informed mindset balancing user needs business goals and technical constraints, excellent communication and storytelling skills able to clearly articulate and defend design decisions to diverse stakeholders, deep understanding of human-centered design principles and research methods and the ability to apply them in complex environments, experience designing trading or financial products is a plus
