Represent the company across key industry forums, trade bodies, and regulatory discussions, building credibility and influence without a traditional lobbying posture Engage with organizations such as the Interactive Advertising Bureau, IAB Tech Lab, Association of National Advertisers, and other relevant industry groups and regulators like FTC, CMA, EDPB, DG COMP, the AI Office, CFPB, FCC, ASA, JFTC, etc. Lead conversations on complex topics including privacy frameworks, consent signals, identity/addressability, measurement standards, competition concerns, and AI governance Translate ambiguous or evolving external developments into clear, actionable guidance for Product, Legal, Revenue, and Communications teams Partner closely with Product and Commercial leaders to ensure industry changes are reflected in product roadmaps and go-to-market strategies Serve as a trusted internal advisor on regulatory risk, platform policy changes, and industry standards Help shape the company’s point of view on critical industry issues and ensure consistent external messaging Build and maintain a strong network across regulators, platforms, and industry leaders, particularly within the New York ecosystem Identify emerging regulatory, policy, and industry trends that may impact the company’s technology, data practices, and business model, proactively shaping internal strategy and external engagement Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure the company’s perspective is effectively represented in industry initiatives, standards development, and cross-company collaborations
15+ years of experience in digital advertising, MarTech, media policy, or related fields Deep, hands-on fluency in ad tech mechanics, including identity, addressability, measurement, and data infrastructure—not just policy interpretation Significant experience engaging with trade bodies and standards organizations Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, especially U.S. state privacy laws, Federal Trade Commission considerations, platform policies, and emerging AI governance Experience in senior roles such as General Counsel, Chief Privacy Officer, policy leader, or standards executive within ad tech or adjacent industries Demonstrated ability to translate complex external developments into practical business and product decisions (“operator mindset”) Executive presence with the ability to navigate nuanced, high-stakes discussions with regulators, partners, and senior stakeholders Demonstrated credibility and influence within industry forums, policy discussions, or standards-setting bodies Strong ability to bridge policy, technology, and commercial considerations in order to guide strategic decision-making Experience working cross-functionally with product, legal, and revenue teams to translate industry developments into scalable platform capabilities or market strategy Based in New York, with an established network across the advertising and media ecosystem
