About the team
The UK SMB Hunter team is responsible for winning net-new business across the SMB segment in the UK. We focus on bringing Stripe’s products to high-potential businesses that are not yet Stripe customers. We move with urgency, operate with focus, and pride ourselves on delivering strong commercial results through disciplined outbound execution and high-quality customer engagement.
What you’ll do
As an Account Executive on the UK SMB Hunter team, you will own a portfolio of prospective SMB accounts and be responsible for winning new business for Stripe. This is a true hunting role, with a strong emphasis on outbound prospecting, pipeline generation, and closing new logos. You will partner closely with an SDR to execute targeted outbound strategies, while also building your own pipeline through proactive prospecting and account-based selling.
You will run high-velocity, consultative sales cycles, help prospective users understand the value of Stripe’s platform, and guide them from discovery through close and activation.
Responsibilities Own the full sales cycle for net-new SMB prospects, from prospecting and discovery through solutioning, negotiation, close, and activation
Build and execute outbound strategies across a named account set to create, progress, and close new business opportunities
Partner closely with SDRs to identify target accounts, refine messaging, and generate qualified pipeline, while also self-sourcing opportunities
Develop thoughtful account plans and outreach strategies for high-potential SMB and growth businesses
Lead consultative sales conversations with founders, operators, and functional stakeholders across payments, finance, product, and engineering
Understand customer pain points and business objectives, and position Stripe’s products and solutions to meet their needs
Manage multiple concurrent opportunities in a high-velocity sales environment with strong attention to detail and execution
Drive deal strategy and commercial negotiations to deliver strong outcomes for both Stripe and prospective users
Build trusted relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders throughout the sales process
Maintain a high bar for pipeline quality, forecast accuracy, and operational rigor
Contribute to team projects and share feedback to help improve our outbound motion, sales process, and team culture

Minimum requirements Proven success in a closing sales role with a strong focus on net-new business acquisition, or in a customer-facing role such as solution engineering, implementation consulting, or strategy consulting with demonstrated experience influencing commercial outcomes and executive decision-making
Experience managing outbound sales motions and building pipeline through a combination of SDR partnership and self-generated prospecting, or experience partnering closely with sales teams on account-based strategies that generate and progress new business opportunities
Ability to run high-velocity sales cycles while maintaining strong qualification, deal control, and forecasting discipline
Strong consultative selling skills and the ability to uncover customer needs, build business cases, and align solutions to buyer priorities
Ability to understand technical concepts and communicate the value of multi-product solutions to both business and technical stakeholders
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Excellent presentation skills, including the ability to lead effective meetings with multiple stakeholders
Strong commercial judgment and experience navigating pricing and negotiation conversations
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and performance-oriented environment
Strong interest in technology, internet businesses, and the SMB landscape
Preferred qualifications
Experience selling payments, fintech, SaaS, or other technology solutions
Experience in a high-growth sales environment with strong outbound expectations
Experience working with founders and SMB decision-makers
Familiarity with account-based prospecting and territory planning
In-office expectations Office-assigned Stripes in most of our locations are currently expected to spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This expectation may vary depending on role, team and location. For example, Stripes in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Mexico City, Mexico, Bengaluru, India, and Dublin, Ireland work 100% from the office. Also, some teams have greater in-office attendance requirements, to appropriately support our users and workflows, which the hiring manager will discuss. The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is €133,300 - €199,900. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
