This role sits at the heart of our Custody Operations function, ensuring that our digital asset infrastructure runs with precision, transparency, and zero tolerance for operational failures.

About the Role

This role sits at the intersection of Fund Accounting, reconciliation, and crypto security controls - owning the custody framework end-to-end.

From fund transfers and reconciliation to enforcing security controls that protect assets, this role keeps the exchange running without a single failure — and builds the team and systems that make that true at scale.

We are seeking an experienced Manager to lead our Custody Operations function. You will own the full spectrum of digital asset custody : Fund Accounting, liquidity management, and crypto security controls, while managing and growing a small team of operations professionals.

This is both a hands-on and a leadership role. You will be expected to run the function with precision while simultaneously building the processes, frameworks, and team capability that allow Custody Ops to scale without breaking.

CoinDCX’s custody function has grown in complexity faster than its formal operating structure. As exchange relationships multiply and digital asset volumes scale, we need a leader who can:

•       Bring strategic and operational structure to a function that has been running lean

•       Own the crypto security controls framework with full accountability — not just execution but design, enforcement, and continuous improvement

•       Build and lead a team that runs custody operations as a predictable, system-driven function — not a daily firefight

•       Operate at the intersection of Fund Accounting and operational process to ensure financial integrity across all custody activities

•       Be the single point of accountability for zero settlement failures, zero open audit pointers, and zero liquidity disruptions

What You’ll Do

Team Leadership & Capability Building

• Manage and mentor a small team of Custody Operations associates

•       Set clear goals, define ownership, and hold the team accountable to outcome-driven metrics

•       Build team capability in crypto operations, Fund Accounting, and security controls — not just task execution

•       Create a culture of process discipline, documentation rigour, and proactive risk ownership

• Hire and onboard talent as the function scales

Custody & Settlement Management

•       Oversee daily fund transfers to maintain optimal balances across exchange wallets

•       Ensure timely reconciliation of custody positions and settlement activities; review and sign off on RCAs of identified gaps

•       Manage end-to-end exposure calculations and settlement for spot trades executed on third-party exchanges

•       Maintain adequate liquidity buffers to support continuous exchange operations

Security Controls & Audit Management

•       Own and continuously improve the crypto security controls framework — covering wallet security, access governance, key management protocols, and transaction authorisation

•       Design and execute a structured audit calendar; ensure process checks are systematic, not ad-hoc

•       Drive enforcement of security standards across teams and escalate deviations with urgency

•       Manage end-to-end closure of all audit pointers with zero overdue or unresolved items

•       Represent Custody Ops in internal and external audit interactions; coordinate with Engineering and Product to embed security controls into systems

Fund Accounting & Financial Controls

•       Maintain accurate, real-time Fund Accounting records across all custody wallets and exchange positions

•       Ensure complete financial reconciliation between custody records, exchange statements, and internal books

•       Support Finance in period-end closings, regulatory disclosures, and reporting related to digital asset holdings

•       Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies with full documentation and RCA

Liquidity Planning & Monitoring

•       Design and own a liquidity forecasting model that anticipates funding needs 24–48 hours ahead

•       Proactively plan fund allocation across exchanges to optimise capital efficiency

•       Track real-time liquidity positions and execute rebalancing before shortfalls materialise

Risk Management & Controls

•       Define and maintain the operational risk framework for Custody Ops — thresholds, escalation paths, and response playbooks

•       Flag anomalies, threshold breaches, or control gaps to senior leadership before they become incidents

Cross-Functional Collaboration

•       Act as the primary interface for Custody Ops with Trade Operations, OTC Desk, Finance, Analytics, Product, and Engineering

•       Drive product and system improvements by translating operational pain points into structured requirements

•       Partner with Analytics to build dashboards that give real-time visibility into custody health, liquidity, and security control status

You’ll Excel in This Role If You Have

Core Requirements

•       4–10 years of experience in operations, finance, treasury, or a related function

• Experience designing or managing an audit processes

•       Proven ability to build and enforce operational controls in a fast-moving environment

•       Strong numerical aptitude with proficiency in Excel at an advanced level

•       Track record of managing cross-functional relationships and influencing without direct authority

Preferred

•       Prior experience in cryptocurrency, digital asset operations, or crypto exchanges

•       Familiarity with crypto security frameworks : wallet management, key custody, on-chain vs. off-chain settlement

•       Background in fintech, trading firms, payment operations, or regulated financial institutions

•       Exposure to internal or external audit frameworks in a financial services context

The Custody Ops function has a clear structure, documented ownership, and runs predictably. The Manager has:

•       Fully mapped and stress-tested every custody and settlement workflow — with runbooks and SLAs in place

•       Taken full ownership of the crypto security controls framework — zero implementation gaps, zero unresolved audit pointers

•       Established a daily reconciliation rhythm that Finance relies on without independently verifying

•       Shifted liquidity management from reactive top-ups to a structured 24–48 hour forecasting model

• Built a team that executes with precision and flags risk proactively

•       Earned a seat at the table — cross-functional partners consult Custody Ops early, not after a problem has surfaced
