The Team / The Role
Bullish is building the institutional-grade digital asset exchange infrastructure for the next era of global financial markets. As Director, European Sales, you will be a senior commercial leader responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding Bullish’s institutional client base across Europe. Reporting to Joaquín Sastre, Head of European Sales, you will originate and develop strategic relationships with European financial institutions – including banks, asset managers, hedge funds, fintechs, prime brokers, and family offices – engaging decision-makers at Director, Managing Director, and C-suite level across key European financial centres. This is a high-impact, relationship-led role for an experienced institutional salesperson who combines deep knowledge of European financial markets with a genuine understanding of the digital asset landscape and its intersection with traditional finance. The role is hands-on and execution-oriented, requiring a self-starter who takes full ownership and accountability of their pipeline and revenue outcomes while collaborating closely across the wider Bullish team. The role is employed through Bullish’s Frankfurt-based European entity and is open to candidates based anywhere in Europe. You will play a central role in establishing Bullish as the partner of choice for European institutions seeking access to digital asset markets.
Role & Responsibilities
Identify, originate, and develop new institutional client relationships across Europe, targeting banks, asset managers, hedge funds, fintechs, prime brokers, and family offices across key European financial centres.
Manage a portfolio of existing senior institutional accounts, acting as a trusted point of contact at Director, MD, and C-suite level, deepening engagement and driving adoption of Bullish’s Exchange and product suite.
Lead the full sales lifecycle for new clients – from initial prospecting and product education through to commercial negotiation, onboarding, and ongoing relationship management.
Articulate the Bullish value proposition with authority, covering exchange infrastructure, market microstructure, liquidity, product capabilities, and Bullish’s regulatory and compliance standing under MiCA.
Work closely with the Head of European Sales and the broader global sales team to execute against regional revenue targets, sharing market intelligence and contributing to commercial strategy.
Collaborate with product, technology, legal, and compliance teams to ensure client requirements are understood and that Bullish’s offering remains competitive and responsive to European institutional needs.
Represent Bullish at senior industry events, forums, and client meetings across Europe, raising the firm’s profile within the institutional financial services and digital asset communities.
Monitor European regulatory developments – including MiCA and BaFin requirements – and contribute to ensuring Bullish’s sales approach remains fully compliant and appropriately positioned with regulated counterparties.
Experience & Qualifications
A minimum of 10–14 years of institutional sales or business development experience within European financial services, with significant time spent in a senior client-facing sales role at a bank, prime broker, exchange, asset manager and/or fintech.
An established network of active relationships at Director, MD, and C-suite level across European financial institutions – including banks, asset managers, hedge funds, fintechs, prime brokers, and family offices – as well as digital asset and crypto-native firms, with demonstrable ability to leverage these relationships to drive commercial outcomes across the region.
Proven track record as an individual contributor, consistently meeting or exceeding revenue targets and closing complex, multi-stakeholder institutional transactions.
Demonstrated profile as a hands-on, execution-oriented professional who is reliable, takes full personal accountability for outcomes, and can confidently drive their priorities forward, alongside a genuinely collaborative approach to working within a team-oriented commercial culture.
Working experience with the tools and platforms commonly used in institutional sales environments – including CRM systems, pipeline management, and productivity tools – combined with strong adaptability and a willingness to embrace new technologies, including AI-powered tools and automations that enhance sales execution and operational efficiency.
Bonus
Prior experience at or selling to a regulated European exchange, digital asset venue, or trading infrastructure provider.
Existing relationships within crypto-native European institutions, digital asset funds, or family offices with active digital asset programmes.
Fluency in additional European languages beyond English - in particular German, French, Italian and/or Spanish - will be highly valued, as will any other European language relevant to European financial markets.
Familiarity with MiCA’s CASP licensing framework and its commercial implications for institutional digital asset participation in the EU.
