This isn’t a typical Legal role. You will work on initiatives that genuinely transform how finance works in India, a type of work few roles offer.
We are looking for a SVP/VP who acts as a strategic business partner rather than just a risk gatekeeper. In an industry defined by evolving regulations and frontier technology, our Legal team provides the trust infrastructure that allows innovation to scale safely. You will architect our legal strategy, manage high-stakes disputes, and ensure CoinDCX remains the most compliant and credible institution in the VDA (Virtual Digital Assets) space.
* Drive Legal Strategy: Design and implement a robust legal framework that aligns with aggressive business objectives while navigating the complex Indian and International Web3 regulatory landscape. * Lead High-Stakes Negotiations: Own end-to-end contract lifecycles, leading negotiations for marquee partnerships, institutional collaborations, and critical vendor ecosystems. * Govern with Excellence: Architect corporate governance standards and internal policies that uphold the highest ethical benchmarks across the organisation. * Navigate Disputes & Litigation: Resolve legal conflicts with precision, managing external counsel effectively to ensure favourable outcomes for the brand. * Monitor Regulatory Frontiers: Proactively track VDA and Web3 policy shifts to provide sound advice that mitigates risk before it impacts the roadmap. * Scale the Legal Engine: Mentor and build a high-performance legal team, ensuring they operate with speed, commercial acumen, and high autonomy.
* Think in first principles and act like an owner: You don't just quote law; you solve for the root business outcome within legal boundaries. * Communicate with precision and empathy: You can simplify complex legal jargon for founders and cross-functional teams to drive fast decision-making. * Thrive in ambiguity: You are steady when regulations are shifting and can build clarity from regulatory chaos. * Have Strong Commercial Acumen: You don't just identify risks; you identify business opportunities within the law with a "how-can-we" mindset to drive growth through legal excellence. * Have Deep Domain Authority: You bring 12+ years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within Fintech, Digital Assets, or highly regulated tech spaces. * Are Academically & Professionally Rigorous: You hold an LL.B from a reputable Indian law college (additional advanced degrees are a plus) and have a proven track record of working independently with senior management. * Possess Multi-Industry Perspective: You’ve successfully navigated legal and risk landscapes across different industries and/or geographies, allowing you to apply diverse first-principles solutions to Web3. * Are a Strategic Negotiator: You have a master-level grasp of contract drafting and the ability to influence high-stakes negotiations to a favourable close. * Thrive in Cross-Functional Synergy: You understand that legal is not a silo; you work collaboratively to unblock bottlenecks across Product, Tech, and Operations.
* Strategic Trust: You are viewed by the founders and leadership as a strategic advisor who unblocks P0 initiatives, resulting in a high Trust Index for the organisation due to the governance systems you’ve put in place. * Regulatory Resilience: You’ve built a legal system that anticipates and absorbs regulatory shifts with zero disruption to the product roadmap. * Execution Velocity: Contract lifecycles and legal clearances are no longer a bottleneck for P0 initiatives. * Institutional Trust: CoinDCX is recognized by regulators and industry bodies as the benchmark for legal and governance standards in India. * Operational Autonomy: Your team operates as a self-sustaining unit, resolving complex disputes and clearings with minimal founder intervention.
You are building the legal backbone of India’s most consequential VDA platform. You’ll work closely with senior leadership, influence high-stakes decisions in a policy-sensitive sector, and create visible impact in an industry where the legal playbook is being written by you.
