We are hiring on behalf of our client, an innovative, collaborative financial technology platform who is seeking an exceptional AI Engineer to join its growing team. The employer provides a no-code, quantamental investing platform that empowers investors to build, share, and remix financial playbooks, seamlessly turning complex financial ideas into live, interactive strategies.
In this role, the successful candidate will focus on building and shipping sophisticated AI agents designed to automate the investment research workflow. This includes automating idea generation, data analytics, trend monitoring, strategy development, and backtesting. The position is available on a full-time basis and can be based on-site in Shanghai. For exceptional candidates in the US West Coast, remote arrangements will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Agent Development: Design, build, deploy, and maintain robust AI agents capable of reliably executing complex investment-related tasks.
- Tool & Knowledge Integration: Equip AI agents with specialized financial tools, APIs, and data sources to optimize their utility and accuracy.
- Safety & Guardrails: Implement rigid safety guardrails and alignment protocols to ensure reliable and compliant agent behavior.
- Performance Optimization: Establish testing frameworks (evals), monitor system performance in production, and iterate rapidly based on real-world data.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product management, operations, and quantitative research teams to align agent capabilities with user needs and platform objectives.
- Technical Foundations: Strong core engineering fundamentals with a proven track record of writing clean, scalable, and maintainable code.
- End-to-End Ownership: Demonstrated ability to own technical systems from initial concept and architecture through to deployment and monitoring.
- AI Expertise: A thoughtful, deeply engaged approach to artificial intelligence, with hands-on experience or significant projects involving AI models, LLMs, or agentic frameworks.
- Domain Curiosity: A strong curiosity about financial markets and investing. While deep quantitative or financial expertise is not strictly required, a willingness to learn the domain is essential.
- Location: Based in, or willing to relocate to, Shanghai or the US West Coast. Open to fully remote arrangements for highly qualified West Coast candidates.
