Compensation: $130K - $200K
Our client is a high-growth, early-stage developer infrastructure startup that has recently secured $5M in seed funding from top-tier venture capital firms and prominent angel investors from OpenAI, Google, and Databricks. The company provides a modern approach to infrastructure-as-code purpose-built for the AI era. Their platform enables startups and enterprise organizations to deploy complex software and AI agents directly into secure, private customer cloud environments, safely unlocking access to sensitive data that cannot leave strict compliance boundaries.
As the Founding Developer Relations (DevRel) Engineer, you will be the inaugural voice of the platform, taking a product with robust engineering roots and building out its entire developer content ecosystem from scratch. This is a high-ownership role within a lean, high-impact team where you will design tutorials, reference applications, videos, and guides that help developers seamlessly ship AI applications into cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Creation & Strategy: Own the end-to-end developer-facing content pipeline, creating video content, deep-dive tutorials, documentation, and technical blog posts.
- Technical Demos & Templates: Build fully functional example applications, open-source templates, and reference projects using TypeScript to showcase the capabilities of the platform.
- Community & Channel Ownership: Manage and grow the community across developer touchpoints, including GitHub, YouTube, technical documentation, and social platforms.
- Product Feedback Loop: Actively dogfood the platform to identify user friction points, gathering community feedback to influence the core engineering and product roadmap.
- Events & Engagement: Represent the client's platform at industry events, traveling to major tech hubs like San Francisco and New York every 2–3 months for community engagement.
- Experience: 3 to 10 years of experience in developer relations, technical content creation, or developer tooling, preferably with a track record of 5+ years of total technical experience.
- Sector Background: Prior experience at an early-stage startup (Series A or earlier) within a developer infrastructure, cloud platform, or AI/ML tooling environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Fluent in TypeScript with the ability to independently write code, build working demos, and architect example applications. Strong familiarity with cloud infrastructure concepts and tools (e.g., AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform).
- Content Portfolio: A visible, public technical content portfolio demonstrating high-quality work across mediums such as YouTube videos, technical blogs, or detailed GitHub repositories.
- Location & Travel: Based in the United States with the ability to travel to San Francisco every 2–3 months for collaborative sessions and industry events.
