Join us as an Junior Legal Expert. - Law degree (Master of Laws / Mag. iur. or equivalent) qualified/studied in Austria or another EU jurisdiction (completed Gerichtsjahr is a plus).
- 1 to 3 years of relevant legal experience (including traineeships, law firm experience, or an initial in-house role), preferably with some exposure to payments, fintech, crypto, or financial services.
- Foundational knowledge of, or a strong interest in, EU regulatory frameworks (e.g., PSD2, DORA, E-Money Directive, MiCA, AMLD).
- Eagerness to learn in-house operations within regulated financial institutions, EMIs, or crypto firms.
- Familiarity with Austrian regulatory expectations or the FMA is a plus.
- Commercial mindset with a willingness to learn how to balance legal risk and business objectives.
- Strong drafting skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to stakeholder management.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a strong sense of initiative and eagerness to learn. Regulatory & Legal Advisory:
- Assist in providing legal research and advice on applicable laws and regulations, including payment services, e-money, and crypto-assets.
- Help interpret and apply EU and Austrian regulatory frameworks (e.g., PSD2, MiCA, AML directives) to daily business activities.
- Support the legal team with regulatory licensing, passporting, and ongoing compliance requirements.

Product & Commercial Support:
- Collaborate with product and business teams to provide preliminary legal guidance on new products and services.
- Review and draft customer terms, product documentation, and disclosures under the guidance of senior counsel.
- Help ensure legal compliance of payment flows, digital asset offerings, and platform features.
- Support go-to-market strategies with practical legal research and analysis.

Contracting & Transactional Work:
- Draft, review, and negotiate standard commercial agreements (e.g., vendor agreements, NDAs, service providers) and assist senior team members on more complex partnerships.
- Maintain and manage the contract lifecycle, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Support strategic partnerships, including fintech and crypto ecosystem participants.

Regulatory Engagement & Governance:
- Assist senior team members in interactions with regulators such as the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA).
- Help prepare regulatory submissions, notifications, and responses.
- Contribute to governance frameworks, including drafting internal policies and organizing board-level documentation.
