About the Role
You'll join the Liquidity Team to help build one of Fireblocks' newest fintech products. You'll act as a leading backend developer, mentoring and guiding other developers on complex designs while collaborating closely with other teams on cross-functional features. You'll connect exchanges, leading third-party trading agencies, and other providers to create a multi-functional trading platform. You'll also develop and optimize Fireblocks' trading API for a seamless and scalable experience, and research and implement cloud-native architectures to support ongoing growth and scalability.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in backend development, with a focus on scalable infrastructure with proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript
- Strong understanding of system design principles, distributed systems, and scalability
- Proven track record of designing and deploying microservices-based architectures in production environments
- Experience with monitoring and logging frameworks (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
- Solid understanding of blockchain fundamentals - transaction lifecycles, block confirmations, mempool mechanics, and finality across multiple chains (e.g., EVM-compatible chains, Solana, Bitcoin)
- Hands-on familiarity with DeFi protocols and primitives - including AMMs (e.g., Uniswap, Curve), liquidity pools, yield mechanisms, and on-chain order books
- Understanding of crypto liquidity concepts - market making, order routing, slippage, price impact, and the differences between CEX and DEX liquidity (nice to have)
