About the Role
You will lead the development and execution of communications strategies for major firm announcements, including M&A and fundraises, while contributing to the firm's broader profile-raising efforts. You'll work closely with the Head of Corporate Affairs in the Americas and collaborate with colleagues across Europe and Asia, with real autonomy to shape and own your communications strategies. You'll also have the opportunity to work on cross-functional initiatives, such as integrated marketing campaigns and public affairs projects. The role is based in New York or Chicago and is permanent and full-time.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in corporate communications, either in-house or at a communications or PR agency, including some background in private capital or financial services
- Proven experience in proactive media relations, including direct journalist outreach and pitching across financial or business media
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, compelling narratives
- Demonstrated project management capability, with experience leading multiple workstreams simultaneously and delivering to deadline
- Experience developing communications strategies for significant corporate announcements (transactions, capital raises, or similar)
- Familiarity with working cross-functionally in a matrixed or global organisation
- Comfort operating at both strategic and executional levels — from advising on approach to producing the final materials
- Experience in private equity, asset management, or broader financial services (nice to have)
- Exposure to investor relations or capital markets communications (nice to have)
- Experience working across multiple geographies or time zones as part of a global team (nice to have)
Responsibilities
- Lead proactive and reactive media relations, including story-mining, pitching, and building strong journalist relationships
- Develop and execute communications strategies for M&A transactions, fundraises, and other significant firm announcements
- Prepare high-quality communications materials, including communications plans, press releases, key messages, and Q&A documents
- Partner cross-functionally with investment, fundraising, legal, business development, and shareholder relations teams to deliver well-coordinated, timely communications
- Contribute to the firm's ongoing Americas profile-raising strategy, identifying opportunities to build EQT's brand in key markets
- Collaborate with EQT's Americas portfolio companies on strategic communications, special situations, and brand-building, serving as a bridge between Group Corporate Affairs and portfolio communications teams
- Work autonomously on complex, concurrent workstreams while maintaining strong quality standards and meeting deadlines
