SM Quant Developer — Crypto Market Making
This isn’t a typical quant developer role.
You will own the systems that quote prices and manage risk across crypto markets in real time — the engine that lets CoinDCX provide deep, reliable liquidity to every trader on our platform. This is work that directly shapes how price discovery and market quality happen for millions of Indian users.
We’re looking for a builder who can architect low-latency market making infrastructure in C++, connect resiliently to multiple exchanges over WebSocket and REST, and lead a small team of quant developers. You’ll be hands-on with the hardest engineering on the desk: keeping order books accurate under messy, high-rate, sometimes-failing exchange feeds, and turning microsecond-level decisions into consistent PnL. You will set the technical bar for how we build, measure, and scale our trading systems.
* Design and build low-latency market making systems in modern C++ (C++17/20), optimising the hot path for memory, cache, and lock-free performance. * Own resilient connectivity to multiple crypto venues (Binance, Bybit, Deribit, CoinDCX and more) over WebSocket and REST — handling reconnects, heartbeats, sequence-gap recovery, and snapshot+delta order book reconstruction. * Build a normalisation layer that tames inconsistent exchange APIs, rate limits, and weight systems into one clean, reliable interface for strategies. * Lead a team of quant developers — reviewing code, setting engineering standards, breaking down work, and mentoring them into strong systems engineers. * Deliver the quoting, order management, and risk-check components end-to-end, partnering closely with traders and quants to translate strategy needs into robust production systems. * Measure and improve performance and reliability relentlessly — instrumenting, benchmarking, and tuning the system against real latency budgets dominated by network round-trips and exchange behaviour.You’ll Excel in This Role If You
* Have 7–8 years building low-latency, high-throughput systems in C++, with deep performance-engineering instincts (lock-free structures, no allocations on the hot path, CPU pinning, profiling). * Have shipped production systems with` persistent WebSocket and REST connectivity at scale — trading background preferred, but strong low-latency engineers from any domain are welcome. * Think in first principles about where latency actually lives — network RTT, exchange matching, and rate-limit budgeting — rather than mechanically applying nanosecond-hardware playbooks. * Have led as a tech lead — owning components, reviewing code, and guiding junior engineers * Are obsessed with correctness and resilience under messy, inconsistent, sometimes-failing exchange APIs. * Communicate latency and risk tradeoffs clearly to traders and non-engineers, and bring a measurement-driven, owner mindset. * (Bonus) Understand crypto market microstructure — order books, funding rates, perpetuals, liquidations, maker/taker fee tiers — or have worked with kernel bypass, or colocation/proximity hosting.You’ll Know You’re Winning When

* You’ve taken ownership of the core market making stack and shipped measurable latency and reliability improvements on the hot path. * Your exchange connectivity layer maintains accurate order books with robust gap recovery and minimal downtime across venues. * Junior developers in the team are independently shipping reviewed, high-quality components against a clear engineering standard you’ve set. * Traders and quants trust your systems — quoting and risk checks run consistently in production with fewer incidents and faster iteration.Why This Role Matters & What’s In It For You
