About the Role
You will welcome and guide visitors, answer basic questions, connect guests with members and events, and support gift-shop sales, stocking, mail, and data-entry work. You will help maintain office security, document information, and provide backup support during staffing shortages.
Requirements
- Perform physical duties including stooping, standing, walking, and lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs.
- Be available for part-time onsite hours from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with possible seasonal hours.
- Maintain flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
- Use discretion and professionalism when working with VIP visitors.
- Create lists and spreadsheets.
- Be available for evening events and weekend work when deadlines require it.
- Have a reliable laptop computer and smartphone.
- Plan to stay in Texas for at least two years.
- Use Google productivity tools, including Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
- Be available during SXSW, DREAMCON, and Austin Startup Week.
Responsibilities
- Greet every visitor promptly.
- Use platform tools and the online directory to help guests find members, events, and contacts.
- Escort guests to the correct location.
- Explain STATION Austin to visitors.
- Answer basic questions about membership, sponsorship, and investment opportunities.
- Assist with mail duties.
- Suggest relevant people and events to members and visitors.
- Collect business cards or contact information for follow-up.
- Assist guests with gift-shop purchases.
- Support stocking and data-entry tasks.
- Provide backup to other Properties roles during short staffing.
- Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access.
