About the Role
You will develop and manage an R&D partnership ecosystem across EMEA, securing compute, data, laboratory, and academic access for materials discovery. You will negotiate cloud-provider agreements, manage research and publisher relationships, support grant applications, and coordinate with research, legal, finance, and leadership stakeholders.
Requirements
- Experience in strategic partnerships, business development, or technology transfer
- Experience directly managing cloud-provider agreements
- Technical background in materials science, chemistry, physics, mathematics, life sciences, or a related field
- Exposure to AI agents, Model Context Protocol interfaces, or related areas
- Ability to translate scientific goals into commercial proposals
- Ability to build partnership frameworks in an early-stage environment
Responsibilities
- Lead negotiations and manage strategic relationships with compute providers
- Monitor and optimise compute usage agreements against the technical roadmap and budget
- Identify, negotiate, and close partnerships with academic institutions and research labs
- Manage relationships with scientific publishers for data ingestion and collaborative research
- Navigate intellectual-property and technology-transfer complexities
- Identify relevant grant opportunities with the research team
- Lead commercial and partnership aspects of grant applications
- Cultivate relationships with funding bodies and consortium stakeholders
- Align partnership priorities with company milestones
- Partner with AI researchers and chemists to understand data and compute requirements
- Liaise with legal and finance on compliant, scalable partnership agreements
