About the Role
You will design robot hardware components in 3D CAD, build prototypes, and test assemblies, motion, and wire routing. You will create 2D drawings using GD&T, select suppliers, order parts, inspect first articles, build test stands, and support components on robot development platforms.
Requirements
- 2+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Biomechanical, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a similar field.
- Expertise in 3D CAD for complex part geometry.
- Experience designing and building prototypes.
- Experience with simulation and analysis methodologies, including FEA and MATLAB.
- Ability to write and maintain design-process documentation.
- Experience with electromechanical integration, including sensors, motors, motor drivers, wire harnesses, and communication buses.
Responsibilities
- Design parts in 3D CAD that meet load, form-factor, and durability requirements.
- Build prototypes to test assembly, range of motion, and wire routing.
- Generate 2D drawings using GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
- Select suppliers and order parts.
- Inspect first articles, build test stands, and support parts on robot development platforms.
