About the Role
You will manage the operational, financial, administrative, and court-coordination activities of a mediation program. You will supervise support staff, advise student leaders, oversee training and volunteer activities, maintain records and systems, and serve as a mediator when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Three or more years of related administrative and program coordination experience
- Mediator meeting Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court Uniform Rules on Dispute Resolution requirements and associated guidelines
- Compliance with Mass. Gen. Law ch. 233, sec. 23C training requirements
- Supervisory experience
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom, Adobe Acrobat, and an SFTP interface
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Budgeting experience
- Ability to build and maintain partner relationships
Responsibilities
- Oversee purchasing-card activity, reimbursements, budget preparation and management, training-fee collection, and grant income
- Manage approvals to conduct court-connected mediations in Massachusetts, including trial-court ADR program re-approval
- Prepare and submit statistical reports to the Massachusetts Trial Court and internal stakeholders
- Develop and manage the master court schedule and mediator sign-ups each semester
- Oversee document access, storage, retention, Microsoft Teams channels, archives, and website updates
- Participate in student board and leadership meetings and advise board members
- Support semester training weekends, including coaching, room reservations, coach vetting, and catering coordination
- Interview volunteers and oversee volunteer agreements
- Organize and run monthly mentor meetings during the academic year
- Supervise the Case Coordinator and Program Assistant
- Introduce mediation to litigants, co-mediate, observe mediations, and lead debriefs
- Communicate with court personnel and exercise judgment on court-related issues
