Let’s go!    Your Mission: Join our team as a Senior Operational Risk Officer, leading and embedding non-financial risk management at the heart of our Austrian entities and business Headquarters. You will support the Group Risk Management team primarily identifying, assessing, monitoring, and treating Non-Financial Risks across all aspects of Bitpanda’s business activities. You will be responsible for building and maintaining a culture of risk management excellence, upholding the use and adoption of Bitpanda’s Enterprise Risk Management framework, while promoting innovative ways to keep customers and company financial assets safe. You have a strong analytical mindset with strong experience in operational risk management, (ideally) a passion for digital assets and related lifecycle processes and a strong desire to play a part in building out the foundations for the future of finance! Through your engagement and oversight over all core business processes and activities, you will challenge management to think differently about risk, becoming a key advisor to our business, products, technology and operations teams. You will report to the Group Head of Operational Risk, becoming a key part of Bitpanda’s growing Group Risk Management Team. What you’ll do

Champion the Non-Financial Risk Framework – Drive adoption across Bitpanda, setting risk appetite, strengthening controls, and delivering insightful reporting to senior management.

Prudential Resilience & Capital Planning: Lead and coordinate entity stress testing, recovery & resolution planning, including Own Funds & ICAAP requirement  (incl. capital adequacy assessment, scenario analysis, trigger frameworks, and Board/regulator-ready documentation).  Provide independent oversight and challenge to ensure ongoing solvency, liquidity resilience, and regulatory compliance.

Be a Risk Influencer – Actively advise, oversee and challenge 1LOD and 2LOD stakeholders on non-financial, financial, and liquidity risks, especially during strategic transformations. Guide risk owners on assessment and treatment, leveraging data-driven insights for informed, risk-based decision-making. Act as Risk SME for Business and Functions – Serve as the single point of contact for all risk matters, collaborating with Compliance, AFC, and Information Security to ensure cohesive oversight. Enhance Control Assurance – Build and execute 2LOD monitoring and testing capabilities, ensuring robust control assurance, actionable insights, and regulatory alignment (eg. FMA, DORA, MICARetc.).

Who you are

Seasoned Risk Professional – 7+ years in Operational and Non-Financial Risk across financial services, preferably with exposure to fast-paced Fintech and Digital Asset environments.   Solid understanding across a broad spectrum of non financial risk types (eg. operations, compliance, financial crime, information security, technology, financial reporting, etc) Control & Assurance Expert – Skilled in planning and executing control monitoring, testing, and audit->
