What you'll do
- Statutory Accountability: Serve as a statutory director and the responsible executive for AML/CFT before the BCB and COAF, overseeing all regulatory reporting and examinations.
- Risk Architecture: Design and maintain the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, covering crypto-specific liquidity, cybersecurity (private key governance), and operational risks.
- Compliance Oversight: Lead the KYC/KYT and Travel Rule programs, ensuring separation of client assets from corporate funds.
- Structural Independence: Maintain a firm "Chinese Wall" between compliance and business teams, reporting directly to the [Board and Bitget's global compliance function] to ensure unbiased oversight.
- VASP Licensing: Lead the firm through the ongoing BCB licensing cycles, renewals, examinations, change approvals, ensuring all governance standards are met.
- Periodic Reporting: Ensuring all regulatory filings are made in a timely manner including monthly reports to RFB per IN RFB 1.888/2019
What you'll need
- Regulatory Standing: You must meet the BCB’s "fit and proper" criteria to serve as a Statutory Director (resident in Brazil (or willing to relocate) with a clean professional record).
- Industry Expertise: [8+ years] in GRC or Internal Controls within the Brazilian Financial System (SFN), ideally with direct experience in a VASP or Fintech.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep fluency in BCB Resolution 3978/2020, the LGPD and regulations governing VASPs (BCB 519, 520, 521).
- Certifications: Professional designations such as CAMS, CPC-A, or ANBIMA (CGA/CGE) are highly preferred.
- Principled Leadership: The ability to operate independently of revenue-generating functions and provide objective anaysis on high-risk initiatives.
