As a Product Data Analyst, you'll play a critical role in shaping how data is integrated, structured, and delivered across Nasdaq's Trade Surveillance platform — a globally deployed compliance solution supporting trading firms, exchanges, and regulators across multiple asset classes.
You'll thrive in this role if you bring deep knowledge of market data, trading protocols, and product delivery, and if you're energized by translating complex technical requirements into scalable, client-ready solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze current data conversion pipelines to identify discrepancies, gaps, or mapping errors when transforming raw exchange feeds into internal software schemas.
Apply critical thinking to design robust, deterministic data models that guarantee absolute accuracy during multi-asset normalization, preventing false positives in downstream alert logic.
Author and maintain functional specifications, data requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for Trade Surveillance data integration across equities, fixed income, and derivatives asset classes.
Manage the full requirements lifecycle — from intake and analysis through documentation, development handoff, QA validation, and release — ensuring traceability at each stage.
Investigate and define resolution paths for critical production issues and enhancement requests, coordinating with development and QA teams to deliver timely, well-documented solutions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of experience in a data analyst role, preferrably within capital markets, fintech, or a regulated trading environment.
Hands-on experience with market data structures, trading protocols, order lifecycle workflows, and exchange connectivity rules across one or more asset classes.
Proficiency in producing structured functional documentation — including data flow diagrams, functional specs, process maps, and traceability matrices.
Experience working within Agile frameworks (Scrum or Kanban), with direct collaboration with engineering, QA, and data teams on iterative delivery cycles.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience integrating or mapping data from trading platforms, market data vendors, or exchange feeds into downstream systems.
Familiarity with data query tools (e.g., SQL) or structured data formats used in financial systems.
