As a Business Analyst, you will own the functional definition and delivery of data requirements for Nasdaq's Trade Surveillance platform — one of the leading compliance and surveillance solutions used by trading firms and exchanges worldwide.
You will bridge product strategy and technical execution by producing structured requirements, managing delivery workflows, and ensuring data integration meets both client and system specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Define, document, and prioritize data and functional requirements for the Trade Surveillance platform, balancing client needs, technical feasibility, and business value across the full product lifecycle.
Translate product strategy into clearly structured specifications — including acceptance criteria, user stories, and supporting documentation — to guide development, QA, and delivery teams.
Lead end-to-end delivery of data integration requirements across multiple asset classes and markets, from initial scoping through release.
Engage directly with customers, exchanges, and vendors to validate product requirements, ensure clarity, and drive alignment on enhancements and production issue resolution.
Partner cross-functionally with data specialists, software developers, and QA engineers to assess business risks, remove delivery impediments, and ensure work aligns with product design principles.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, Business, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
2+ years of experience in a business or product analyst role within capital markets, financial technology, or a regulated trading environment.
Strong understanding of market data structures, trading protocols (e.g., order management, execution workflows), exchange rules, and asset class coverage (equities, fixed income, derivatives).
Demonstrated ability to translate complex business and technical requirements into structured documentation (e.g., functional specs, user stories, data flow diagrams).
Proven experience working in Agile delivery environments, collaborating with cross-functional engineering and product teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with trade surveillance, compliance monitoring, or market regulation frameworks (e.g., MiFID II, FINRA, MAR).
Experience working with large-scale data integration pipelines or market data feeds across multiple asset classes.
Exposure to global teams with cross-regional client engagement experience.
