About the Role
You'll build and run the data pipelines that feed the fund, pulling prices, volumes, fundamentals, and filings from market data providers like Polygon and LSEG, as well as SEC EDGAR. You'll build scrapers to collect earnings materials and investor relations documents from listed companies. You'll design and maintain the fund's data lake so the investment team can query clean and reliable data. You'll build the tools behind the strategy, including screenings, signal testing, backtests, and a portfolio simulator that accounts for real trading costs. You'll connect systems to broker APIs for execution, reconciliation, and reporting. You'll also use AI tools to sharpen your analysis, productivity, and insights.
Requirements
- Python and working knowledge of SQL
- Experience building data pipelines, scrapers, or API integrations
- Comfort with data analysis and identifying results that are too good to be true
- High agency and ownership to move things forward independently
- Adaptability and comfort in a fast-changing environment
- Genuine interest in financial markets and in using AI in daily workflow
- Upper-intermediate to advanced English
- Experience with cloud data stacks such as AWS, GCP, BigQuery and pipeline orchestration (nice to have)
- Experience with financial or market data such as tick data, fundamentals, filings (nice to have)
- Backtesting or quant work such as Kaggle competitions, trading bots, or portfolio tools (nice to have)
- Experience at fintechs, funds, brokerages, or data-heavy companies (nice to have)
