About the Role
You will own and operate the application stack and AWS infrastructure that orchestrates and manages hosted customer instances of Metabase. You'll debug runtime issues across different levels of the application and hosting stack, and develop internal tooling and automation to manage the lifecycle of a hosted Metabase installation, from purchase to deployment, zero-downtime upgrades, and general operational health. You'll continuously improve automated deployments and testing, and could work on projects like multi-region hosting, automating EKS cluster provisioning, extending CRDs and Operators, improving RDS sharding strategy, unifying CI/CD platforms, and maintaining SOC2 compliance.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience building and operating production infrastructure, ideally on public cloud
- Strong Kubernetes and AWS experience
- Strong experience with IaC and Terraform
- Can write high quality and readable code in a modern language (e.g. Python, Go, etc.)
- Experience with modern monitoring stacks (e.g Prometheus/Grafana/Datadog)
