About the Role
You'll help design and build the core systems behind our trading platform, working on low-latency, high-reliability services that process market data, orders, and risk events in real time. You'll design backend services powering trading infrastructure, from order management to market data and risk systems, and you'll build and optimize components for throughput, latency, and reliability under real-world trading conditions. You'll architect distributed systems with clear boundaries, fault tolerance, and predictable behavior under stress, and collaborate on matching, settlement, and messaging subsystems, ensuring consistency and observability across components. You'll work closely with engineers integrating blockchain and off-chain data into the exchange stack, contribute to the infrastructure stack focusing on automation and scalability, and participate in code reviews, performance profiling, and continuous improvement of engineering standards. You'll also engage in design discussions, bringing ideas from other trading or financial systems.
Requirements
- Proven experience building or operating trading, exchange, or other real-time, stateful systems
- Strong command of concurrency, event-driven architecture, and distributed system design
- Proficiency in Golang (or strong background in a comparable language such as Rust, C++, or Java with readiness to transition)
- Familiarity with message-driven architectures (Pulsar, Kafka, or similar)
- Experience running production workloads on AWS/Kubernetes
- Understanding of system reliability, monitoring, and graceful failure handling in production
- Curiosity and drive to learn new technologies and domains, from exchange mechanics to blockchain integrations
- Clear communication and self-sufficiency in a fast-moving, startup environment
