The Impact you will have in this role:
Being a member of TFS Performance Group, you will optimize the performance of applications, evaluate design, and work together with developers and testers to deliver high performance, business critical applications. Provide technical leadership to multiple performance engineering teams. Develop requirements and specifications for tools and processes to support the project life cycle. Develop requirements and specifications for tools and processes to support the project life cycle. Work closely with the development team during performance testing/tuning, and coordinate troubleshooting efforts with performance engineers. Evaluate, develop, deploy, operate, and maintain performance groups automation tools. Gain full stack domain expertise and guide team members on technical and business knowledge.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop strong understanding of the DTCC Software Delivery process, Performance Test Engineering framework, CoE (Center of Excellence) Engagement process as well as understanding of tech-stack (tools and technologies) to perform day-to-day job
- Prepare, maintain and execute performance test scenarios based on non-functional requirements and follow standard DTCC testing guidelines
- Automate performance test scenarios by leveraging current automated functional and performance test scripts in compliance with the non-functional framework
- Maintain traceability across Non-Functional Requirements, Performance Test Scenarios and Defects
- Review of performance test scenarios from both a technical and business perspective with stakeholders, such as development teams and business
- Track defects to closure, report test results, continuously monitor execution milestones and escalate as required
- Contribute to the technical aspects of Delivery Pipeline adoption for performance testing and enhance adoption
- Identify environmental and data requirements; collaborate with Development and Testing teams to manage and maintain environment and data
- Provide guidance to team members related to performance test coverage, performance test scenarios, and non-functional requirements
- Develop a basic understanding of the product being delivered including architecture considerations and technical design
- Develop understanding of the logical architecture and technical design of the supported applications in relations to the performance and scalability
- Collaborate with Development and Architecture teams and identify opportunities to improve the test coverage. Share suggestions for performance improvements
- Aligns risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
Talents Needed for Success:
- Strong Problem Solving and Critical Thinking skills.
- Minimum of 5+ years of mainframe experience: JCL, COBOL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, MQ, REXX, scheduling, sort, performance monitoring tools
- Experience in the performance testing of large scale securities trading applications - functional and non-functional testing preferred
- Proficient in MS tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to collaborate with offshore team and other departments and
- Financial Industry experience is a plus
- Proven ability to develop test strategies, test plans and test approaches
- Experience with multi-technology end-to-end testing (distributed and mainframe systems) preferred
- Experience writing and/or designing custom tools for performance testing and analysis
- Proficient in infrastructure architectural concepts and familiar with performance monitoring and measurement
- Good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting high-volume transactional applications in financial services environments.
- Familiarity with resiliency testing, failure mode analysis, and non-functional requirements (NFR) validation.
