About the Role
You will lead the strategy, technical roadmap, design, deployment, and adoption of agentic AI workflows that accelerate small-molecule drug discovery. You will co-lead development of an integrated AI and laboratory automation framework, collaborate across computational, experimental, and data engineering functions, represent discovery capabilities externally, and mentor a growing technical team.
Requirements
- PhD in computational chemistry, machine learning, structural biology, chemical biology, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience in drug discovery, machine learning, or platform-building contexts.
- Expertise in designing and deploying AI and machine-learning workflows.
- Deep familiarity with small-molecule drug discovery, including structure-based design, ADMET, and multi-parameter optimization.
- Hands-on experience applying machine-learning models to drug discovery programs.
- Track record of leading cross-functional scientific teams and delivering computational or platform capabilities in biotech or pharmaceutical settings.
- Experience with external research collaborations or partnerships.
- Scientific communication skills for explaining AI and machine-learning concepts to technical and business audiences.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical roadmap and day-to-day execution of agentic AI workflows for small-molecule discovery.
- Design, build, and deploy multi-step agentic systems for hypothesis generation, compound prioritization, and experimental triage.
- Drive efficiency gains in discovery collaborations and scalable business opportunities.
- Co-lead development of the Iambic Lab of the Future integrating AI molecular design, high-throughput experimentation, and automated data pipelines.
- Partner with computational, experimental, and data engineering functions to ensure scientific grounding and operational adoption.
- Represent agentic discovery capabilities at scientific conferences, partnership discussions, and with academic collaborators.
- Develop agentic discovery strategy with senior leadership.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing agentic AI team.
