About the Role
You will own global revenue accounting, including revenue recognition, contract review, close activities, reconciliations, reporting, and controls. You will advise on complex contracts and business models, maintain technical accounting documentation, support audits, improve workflows and data integrity, and build the revenue accounting function.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with substantial technical revenue accounting experience
- Expertise in ASC 606 and its application to complex technology or SaaS contracts
- Understanding of usage-based, consumption-based, subscription, and enterprise contract structures
- Experience evaluating minimum commitments, prepaid credits, discounts, rebates, service-level arrangements, contract modifications, and variable consideration
- Technical accounting research and memo-writing skills
- Experience in a high-growth technology company
- Experience managing revenue close processes, internal controls, and external audit relationships
- Experience scaling revenue accounting processes through automation
- CPA preferred
- Public accounting experience, particularly with a Big Four firm, preferred
Responsibilities
- Own global revenue accounting, including revenue recognition, contract review, close, reconciliations, reporting, and controls
- Serve as the technical accounting expert for revenue recognition under ASC 606
- Review complex customer contracts and determine appropriate accounting treatment
- Prepare technical accounting memos supporting revenue recognition conclusions and judgments
- Evaluate accounting implications of products, pricing models, and contract structures
- Establish scalable revenue accounting policies, processes, and controls
- Lead monthly and quarterly revenue close activities
- Support external audits and act as the primary contact for revenue accounting matters
- Automate and improve revenue accounting workflows, systems, and data integrity
- Build and lead the revenue accounting team
- Support technical accounting, financial reporting, and public-company readiness initiatives
