What you'll do
FATCA/CRS Compliance & Classification
- Classify group entities and client/counterparty accounts under FATCA/CRS (entity type, GIIN registration status, reportable/non-reportable determination)
- Review and scrutinize FATCA/CRS documentation — self-certifications, W-Forms, withholding statements — for regulatory adequacy
- Maintain FATCA trackers and forms per entity/counterparty; monitor changes in circumstances triggering reclassification
- Validate GIINs against IRS published data; flag unverifiable registrations for follow-up
Due Diligence & Reporting
- Perform onboarding and periodic FATCA/CRS reviews on clients, counterparties and investors, aligned with AML/KYC cycles
- Analyze reportable accounts/persons and prepare notification letters
- Prepare and validate XML reports; manage annual e-filing across relevant jurisdictions
- Coordinate reporting data requests to/from internal teams, clients and tax authorities
Regulatory & Stakeholder Management
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments across FATCA/CRS regimes in all operating jurisdictions; assess business impact
- Serve as point of contact with tax administrations and the IRS on FATCA/CRS matters
- Coordinate with external auditors and support regulatory examinations/inquiries
- Provide FATCA/CRS training to relevant business, operations and compliance teams
Policy & Process
- Draft, implement and maintain FATCA/CRS policies, procedures and controls; update in light of new regulatory or business developments
- Review legal agreements with counterparties for FATCA/CRS clause adequacy
- Participate in UAT for systems supporting FATCA/CRS workflows
- Support remediation projects and periodic reviews on existing client/entity population
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 5–8 years' relevant experience in FATCA/CRS, US tax operations, or AML/KYC compliance, ideally including exposure to fund administration, financial services, or crypto/fintech
- Strong working knowledge of FATCA/CRS regulations; US tax knowledge (W-Forms, 1042 series) preferred
- Experience with multi-entity/multi-jurisdiction corporate structures- Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) required
- Strong analytical and investigative skills with high attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and comfort with regulatory reporting/XML tools
- Professional certification (CAMS, ICA, or equivalent) an advantage
- Prior experience at a Big 4 firm's FATCA/CRS practice, a fund administrator, or a financial institution's compliance/tax function is a plus
