What you'll do
As Compliance Officer, oversee regulatory compliance and AML/CFT support, including licensing, monitoring, risk assessments, incident management and DMLRO duties, ensuring effective and defensible regulatory oversight across Mauritius and the Group.
- Manage licensing, regulatory registrations, notifications and supervisory obligations.
- Maintain an effective, risk-based compliance framework and Regulatory Obligations Register.
- Monitor compliance with FSA 2007, Securities Act 2005, FIAMLA, FIAML Regulations 2018 and FSC requirements, including licence conditions.
- Lead compliance monitoring, testing and entity-level compliance risk assessments, including remediation tracking.
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the Company's business, products, policies and controls.
- Provide Board and senior management reporting, including gap analyses, breaches and remediation plans.
- Ensure timely and properly controlled regulatory submissions and notifications.
- Act as the principal contact for FSC onsite and offsite inspections.
- Review and oversee transaction monitoring of the Company in line with FSC requirements.
- Cumulate DMLRO responsibilities, supporting the MLRO with AML/CFT monitoring, investigations, escalation and suspicious activity reporting.
- Oversee compliance incidents, including root-cause analysis and remediation.
- Perform other duties reasonably assigned by the Company.
What you'll need
- Mauritius resident with sound knowledge of Mauritius AML/CFT requirements and the ability to perform the DMLRO role locally.
- Relevant professional qualification in AML/CFT, compliance, finance, law or financial services.
- Relevant experience in investment dealing, securities, banking or regulated financial services, preferably 5 years, or 3 years with relevant AML/CFT certification such as ACAMS, ICA, FSI or equivalent.
- Strong practical knowledge of FIAMLA, FIAML Regulations, FSC AML/CFT requirements, CDD/EDD, sanctions, PEPs, transaction monitoring, STR investigations and AML/CFT risk assessments.
- Demonstrated integrity, independence, analytical judgement and effective challenge, with sufficient seniority and time commitment to discharge the role.
- Ability to liaise effectively with senior management, the Board, FSC and FIU Mauritius.
- Understanding of regulatory reporting, supervisory notifications, compliance monitoring and Board reporting requirements.
- Commitment to ongoing CPD and regulatory updates.
- Must satisfy applicable FSC competency, fit-and-proper and appointment requirements for the Compliance Officer/DMLRO role.
