Role Overview
We are looking for a Market Research Manager to join the Product Marketing Strategy function. This role is the center of excellence for market intelligence — responsible for generating actionable insights that inform product direction, go-to-market strategy, brand positioning, and growth initiatives. You will own the research agenda end to end, from desk research through commissioning and managing third-party vendors for both quantitative and qualitative studies.
Key Responsibilities
Market & Competitive Intelligence
- Conduct ongoing desk research to track market trends, emerging technologies, regulatory shifts, and macro-economic signals.
- Deliver structured competitor analysis, The product features comparisons, positioning shifts, pricing models, and go-to-market moves.
- Produce market sizing and forecasting to support strategic planning and annual business reviews.
Brand & Consumer Research
- Design, brief, and manage third-party quantitative research (surveys, brand trackers, U&A studies, NPS/CSAT measurement).
- Lead qualitative research projects (focus groups, in-depth interviews, ethnographies) in partnership with specialist agencies.
- Own the brand health tracking framework : Defines KPIs, manage fielding cadence, synthesizes wave-over-wave trends into actionable recommendations.
Product Deep-Dive & Opportunity Identification
- Lead product deep-dive analyses: evaluate feature adoption, usage patterns, and competitive alternatives to identify gaps and optimization points.
- Identify white-space opportunities where unmet user needs intersect with business capability.
- Partner with Product Management to inform the product roadmap with evidence-based user insights.
Audience & Messaging
- Drive audience segmentation projects: define personas, segment value propositions, and prioritize target cohorts.
- Support user messaging and positioning development through message testing, value-proposition validation, and perceptual mapping.
- Enable the broader marketing team with insight-backed briefs for campaigns, creative development, and content strategy.
Performance & Funnel Measurement
- Design and maintain performance tracking frameworks — brand funnel, conversion funnel, awareness → consideration → preference → action.
- Partner with Data & Analytics teams to align primary research outputs with behavioral data (CRM, web analytics, product telemetry).
- Deliver periodic research readouts that connect findings to business outcomes and inform leadership decision-making.
Who You Are
Essential Qualifications
- Experience: 5–8 years in market research, consumer insights, or strategy roles, agency or in-house side both considered.
- Research methods: Deep understanding of quantitative methodology (sampling, questionnaire design, statistical significance, crosstab analysis) and qualitative methodology (moderation guides, thematic analysis, projective techniques).
- Desk research fluency: Able to independently synthesize secondary sources (industry reports, analyst publications, academic journals, patent databases) into concise intelligence briefs.
- Vendor management: Proven experience briefing, managing, and QC'ing third-party research agencies — on time, on budget, on quality.
- Storytelling with data: Ability to translate complex data sets into clear, persuasive narratives for senior stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Web 3, Fintech or traditional finance
- Familiarity with brand tracking platforms (e.g., Brandwatch, YouGov, Kantar) and survey tools (Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, Confirmit).
- Exposure to behavioral science or advanced analytics (conjoint analysis, MaxDiff, TURF, K-means clustering).
- Experience working in cross-functional teams alongside Product, Brand, and Growth functions.
- Fluent in AI and data modeling tools
